06/02 - Last night, we kicked off the 2015 short track season with a bang. We got a welcome break from the rain right before the start of the races and even if we had to skip the motocross course, the course turned out a to be a ton of fun. Thanks to everyone who came to race or spectate and a special welcome to all the riders who raced short track for the very first time. We hope you all had a great time and are ready for more!
06/01 - Cat 2 Women racers Danielle Reynolds and Pam Reid, tackling the switchbacks at our first night of racing. (photo: Victor Duong)
06/01 - If today's weather give you pause about coming out and race tonight's first race of the 2015 Short Track Series, just have a look at Victor Duong's photos from last year's Short Track race # 3, which took place in the aftermath of an epic thunderstorm.
As you can tell from the shots, it turned into a great race night, perfect conditions, with a real fun course and a lot of smiles!
Today, we are not expecting anywhere as much rain. If anything, the moisture we'll see should soften up the course a bit (after the exceptionally dry past couple weeks) and make things less bumpy and lines more tacky, just a perfect way to ease into the series!
Either way, we're looking forward to seeing you all
out there tonight!
05/31 - All systems go for our first night of short track racing! 07/21 - A generous sprinking of U-turns across the course of Short Track Race # 7 forced racers - like Camas Bikes' Cat 2 Men U35 racer Brady Stotts - to be on their toes and kept our course marshalls plenty busy re-setting toppled cones. (photo: Victor Duong)

07/14 - Two very "Portland" interpretations of "Summer Casual" at yesterday's Short Track Race # 6: Staccato Gelato's Singlespeed racer Aaron Lee going for the refined urban/tweed look, while Metropolis Cycle Repair's Cat 2 Men U35 racer Stephen Hartzel (in the distance) is opting for the - arguably more weather appropriate - minimalist PDX hipster race attire. (photo: Victor Duong)
07/12 - In good tradition and per popular request, it's time for our annual "Summer Casual" Race Outfit Contest, this year brought to you by Portland Design Works!
Leave the spandex at home and come race in your best Summer Casual race outfit. To get an idea of what we're talking about and get some inspiration for Monday, check out the photos of last year and the year before.
The most hilarious outfits (male & female) in each race heat (*) will win a very cool PDW "triple goodie package", consisting of an AetherDemon USB-rechargeable LED tail light, an Origami rear fender, and the most stylish bottle cage you've ever owned, aka The Bird Cage. So get the creative juices flowing.... anything goes, as long as it doesn't weird out any of the kiddie racers!
(*) Judging will be done based on the photos taken at the PDW Photo Booth (look for the Portland Design Works tent, which will be located under the trees).
07/12 - Winning!! Cammia Kalimanis (of Kalama!) is the lucky winner of last Monday's 10th Anniversary Grand Prime, a Shimano MTB wheelset donated by the Lumberyard. If you raced last week, click here to find out if you are among the other winners of our weekly raffle!

Thanks to everyone who came out to race and/or spectate. We hope to see you back next week for more fun at our Casual Summer Race Outfit Contest!
07/07 - On a roll. Fresh from a podium finish at last week's Six Hours of Mt Hood, Cyclepath Racing's Julie Wilson is chasing hard to claim 2nd place in yesterday's Elite/Cat 1 Women race. Judging by her race plate number, it's only a matter of time before she'll take home 1st place for a third night this season. (photo: Victor Duong)
Local samba drum band Bloco Alegria will come out to entertain the start of each race heat with live music, Nossa Familia Coffee will be serving free iced and pour-over coffees, and our title sponsor Hopworks Urban Brewery will sample a variety of their delicious organic ales to anyone over 21.

And for those who came late to the party this year, we'll be selling rest-of-series passes for just $70 ($30 for juniors).
Our food station will be serving our ever-popular free Dave's Killer Bread PB&J sandwiches, larabars and other healthy goodies, and to top it all off we will raffle off a Shimano MTB wheelset - generously donated by The Lumberyard - among everyone who comes out and race this Monday.

06/16 - Tonight was definitely something different! The major thunderstorm that passed over Portland around 3pm forced our course set-up crew to skip the motocross course and design a novel, fun and challenging course under the trees and across the grass and gravel. By the time we kicked off the races, the sun came through and the course turned out to be quite awesome. Results of tonight's race # 3 are up on OBRA.
06/16 - The Elite/Cat 1 Women are off for a 35' minute bout of short track fun under sunny skies and across a very different but equally fun course. (photo: Victor Duong)

Junior & Newbie Short Track Night and bring your friends! All new short track racers (who've never raced a Portland Short Track Series race before) will enjoy $10 off the regular day-of-race fee and OBRA will waive the $5 single-day OBRA license fee for any non-OBRA members!... In other words, newbie junior racers can come race Short Track this Monday for just $5 and newbie adult racers pay only $15! In addition, we'll raffle off a bunch of cool prizes among all junior racers who come out and race!
