2017 RACE COURSE

The course is the same as last year, but - new this year - solo riders will get to do a slightly extended loop that includes a fun singletrack descent!

The course consists of a varied 5.5-mile loop (6.8 miles for solo riders) that will feature some of the best trails that Skibowl has to offer, including plenty of fun, twisty singletrack trails. The elevation gain per lap is about 860 feet 1,085 feet for solo riders).

All racers will start at the Skibowl West main parking lot and from there follow the fun and twisty South Trail towards the Multorpor/Skibowl East area, where they will start a clockwise loop around Multorpor Mountain.

After passing Multorpor Lodge, there is a gradual climb on the Summit Trail (rocky double-track), followed by a short climb and flying descent down Powerline Trail. Racers will continue to loop around Multorpor Mountain along the enchanting Rhodondendron Trail and Optimator Trail, and coast down to the base of the Multorpor chairlift. From there, two-person team riders will follow a fun and twisty singletrack trail along Lake Road, back towards the Lower Bowl meadow, pass along and over the Alpine Slide, and down to the start/finish area, where you - or your team mate - will start the next lap. Solo riders will skip the last segment of singletrack through the woods and instead go up Low Road and then descent down the twisty Gnar-Gnar trail, re-joining the main course right where the two-person team riders exit the bridge over the Alpine Slide.

This course has a ton of flow, the right amount of technical features to keep things fun and challenging, plenty of room to pass (everywhere along the course), and - in short - is a blast to race for all levels of racers. The single-track is relentless!
